Last night as I walked with my driver through the Atlanta Airport, passed lines of young men who were waiting for flights for boot camp. They were beautiful young men, between boyhood and manhood. Some are joining because they are warriors, true warriors. Others because they need jobs, or there is nothing else. I pray they are not slaughtered for oil, for greed.

Me too. :/
Yes, we see the same thing here in South Carolina, where soldiers leave from Fort Jackson. I am currently reading a wonderful memoir, stunningly written by a true warrior: Kaboom: Embracing the Suck in a Savage Little War. I highly recommend it and I join you in your prayer.
It's weird how, in a country thats set up to accomodate the wealthy and turn it's back on the poor, that the wealthy always have those poor people enlist to fight to protect their financial bottom lines (oil, defense contracts). And how they depend on us poor to run the infrastructure that makes basic life possible for them.
